About Marques
Marques Cain was born on September 13, 1993. In 1999,
his mother, Andrea Cain, was stricken with heart failure. She was
originally diagnosed with a viral heart infection. After waiting over
three months for a heart, Andrea underwent a successful heart transplant at the Cleveland Clinic.
In 2005, Marques began to exhibit the very same symptoms as his mother. It
was then that doctors discovered that the culprit was not a virus, but
rather a rare and potentially fatal condition--Danon's Disease. Like his
mother had before him, Marques had a dangerously enlarged heart, a
condition medically known as Severe Dialated
Marques received a new heart on December 12, 2005. He is now home and in good spirits. Marques and his family are
emerging
victorious from his traumatic ordeal, just as Andrea did after the
successful surgery that enabled her to regain her active lifestyle as a nurse
and mother of three
children--Marques and his two older sisters. Your support is still needed, however.
